Arielle Muriel: Does a student body good!
I have been a Journeyman welder and have run my own businesses as a photographer and a graphic designer. I am now studying as an environmental scientist and aim to be a contractor in the realm of environmental policy direction. I will bring my varied background to bear when representing you in Student Council.
As your student council representative, I will be dealing with a unique environment of hope and caution as we step out into our first year as an accredited University. The current economic climate places MRU in a dismaying position, with an $11.5 million disparity in Federal funding from 2009-2010. As your representative, I will hold it as my highest priority to continue the sterling performance of our university past this transition phase to assure continuity of student services and support well into our reign as a University.
As the Science and Technology Faculty Representative on Student Council I will make it my foremost priority to encourage the growth of our fledgling University in a direction that will create renown world-wide. Our new Science & Technology Wing Expansion is bold evidence that Mount Royal is committed to launching our University into the realms of new research frontiers.
